Personal attention. Practical solutions.
What part of your job is giving you a headache?
Most organizations have a task that eats hours every week or every month. I’ll help you find a simpler way, then either build it for you or teach you to do it yourself.
Does any of this sound familiar?
You don’t need to know what the solution is, or whether it involves AI. Most projects start with a frustration like one of these. A lot of work small teams used to rule out, because it needed another hire or a programmer they couldn’t afford, is now within reach.
- “We spend hours every month compiling the same report.”
- “Our information exists, but finding and using it is difficult.”
- “We have an idea for a tool, but nothing off the shelf fits.”
- “Our team wants to use AI responsibly but isn’t sure where to begin.”
How I can help
Four kinds of work that often overlap. The right mix depends on the problem, not the other way around. If you don’t know where to start, I’ll show you, and I’ll teach your staff so they can keep going without me.
Workflow Improvement & Automation
Fewer repetitive steps, less copying between systems, and processes that don’t depend on one person remembering everything.

Every project is different, but the shape is usually the same.
Talk it through
You describe what’s frustrating or slow. I ask questions until I understand how the work actually happens.
Weigh the options
Sometimes the answer is a better process or an existing tool. I’ll recommend what makes sense, even if it’s simple.
Build or improve
I put the solution in place, whether that’s a redesigned workflow, a report, training, or software.
Refine
We adjust based on how it works in practice, so it fits your team rather than the other way around.
An example
Monthly grant reporting: from 10+ hours to one afternoon
A nonprofit board member was spending more than ten hours a month on grant reports. She wanted to learn rather than hand it off, so I showed her how to set up an AI assistant for the tedious parts and how to direct and check its work. It now takes about four hours, in one sitting. She still doesn’t love grant reporting, but it’s no longer a multi-day chore.
About
A consultant who explains things clearly
I’m Daniel Creamer. I have a Ph.D. in mathematics and chair the mathematics and computer science department at Tabor College, where I also lead program development. Much of my career has been spent explaining technical ideas to people who don’t live in them every day.
DCDS is my personal consulting practice. When you work with DCDS, you work with me: the same person who listens to the problem is the one who designs and builds the solution.
Not sure what you need? That’s a good place to start.
Tell me about the problem in plain language. If I can help, I’ll suggest a sensible next step. If I can’t, I’ll say so.
